Arabic Lessons

Weekly, every Tuesday, starting 02 Jun, 3pm to 5pm

Join us to learn Arabic in this informal, friendly and welcoming class. No previous knowledge needed.

Learning will be through conversation. There will also be opportunities to learn Arabic script.

All welcome.

Standing Together for Community Cohesion

Thurs 11 Jun, 5pm to 7pm

The Independent Commission on Community & Cohesion seeks to explore what needs to change to build stronger, more connected communities.

Join RENS to discuss how we can all participate in the National Conversation locally, to gather as many views as possible from different sectors of our community.

No booking needed. A shared supper will be provided.

Weston Jar Squad with Grow Feral

Wed 17 Jun, 6pm to 9pm

Weston JarSquad is a sprout of JarSquad an initiative that connects the dots between food waste, climate action, and combating social isolation. This is the first of 5 sessions, supported by Great Weston Railway and Jar Squad and the team will work with the Grow Weston network, to gather surplus produce from community gardens across Weston,

Refugee Week 2026 Film Festival

 Fri 19 Jun, 3pm to 8pm 

Join RENS for the 2026 Refugee Week Film Festival, which invites us all to explore this year’s theme of ‘Courage’.

The powerful programme of curated shorts and feature-length films will include fiction, documentary and animation, and will explore themes of displacement, migration, belonging, and community. Click here for more info.

Weston Poets

Sat 20 Jun, 2pm to 4pm

The themes for this session will be ‘Rocks’ and ‘Shoes‘ but, as always, any poems are welcome.

Weston Poets are also putting together poems about Weston-super-Mare, so poems about our town are also very welcome!

If you would rather just join the group to listen, that’s fine too. No booking needed.

 

Accelerating Change for Organisations: Legal Structures

 Thurs 25 Jun, 6pm to 7.30pm

As part of RENS’ sector development work, this is the second of three workshops for grass roots organisations who are providing vital support and connection for people within our local communities. Click here for more info.

Delivered in collaboration with BSWN, this session will focus on exploring the pros and cons of various legal structures in the context of governance and rasing funds.

Mind, Meditation and Yoga

Mon 29 Jun, 6pm to 7.30pm

 The first of three evening talks (29th, 30th June and 1st July) with global educator, Swami Anubhavananda (known as the Smiling Swami) followed by a shared vegetarian supper.

Please register and arrive by 5.50pm. This is a free event, although donations for Swamiji or supper are welcome.

Menopause Support Drop-in

The first Monday of every month, 1pm to 3pm, apart from Bank Holidays.

A monthly drop-in for anyone wanting to chat, connect and find support around all things menopause.Whether you’re pre-, peri-, post-menopause or simply curious, you are welcome here. This is a relaxed, safe space to share experiences, ask questions, and grab a cuppa.

ADHD Drop-in

The first and third Monday of every month, 6pm to 8pm, apart from Bank Holidays.

A monthly peer support group for adults with ADHD. Drop in and be yourself anytime between 6-8pm

Are you struggling with an extreme build-up of items? Do you have an excessive attachment to these items? This monthly meetinn is for anyone struggling with this increasingly common problem.

Day Dancing

Every Thurday, 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Two informal weekly groups. Join others who love to dance. Monday is Zumba, Thurs is Day Dancing. All welcome. No booking needed.

Please note that these sessions have no tutor, and are simply a group of people meeting up to watch You Tube videos and practice moves together rather than alone.

Housing Support Drop In

Every Wednesday from 2pm to 3pm

A drop-in session for anyone who is having housing difficulties.

Bhakti Basics – Krishna Consciousness in Weston-super-Mare

Sundays, 1pm to 3pm 

A group of people from all walks of life who come together for an afternoon of Devotional Music (Kirtan), Mantra Meditation, a short discourse on Krishna Consciousness and a Vegetarian Meal.

The focus is on community and all are welcome. No previous experience or knowledge needed.

Free event, no booking is needed.

Ageing Without Children

A new group has recently been set up for people living in North Somerset who are Ageing without Children (AWOC) – which includes those that do not have any children and those who do not have any contact with their children. The group aims to provide peer support as well as practical information.

PUBLIC LIVING ROOM

Our public living room is open every afternoon on weekdays (2pm-5pm, Monday to Friday). Come and relax, help yourself to a cuppa from our community kitchen and have a chat. We’d love to see you. (We’ve also  joined the excellent Camerados movement. Find out more and  spread the word!)
